If you are looking to enjoy a good meal in a Dominican style environment, you have to visit Merengue restaurant. Merengue restaurant was the first to have a variety of dishes as daily specials, also a full Dominican and international menu in Massachusetts. On top of that, they recently opened a new catering business called SOFIA'S banquet & meeting room. Merengue restaurant is located in 156 Blue Hill Avenue Roxbury, MA 02119. Hours of operations are Monday to Sunday from 10:00am to 10:00pm.

Appetizers:

Pastellito de pollo

• Pastellitos de pollo, res o queso. (chicken, beef, or cheese mini patties). 
• Ceviche de camarones (Shrimps marinated in Lemon Juice).
• Yuca frita con mojito de ajo (fried cassava with garlic dipping).
• Berenjena asada (roasted eggplant).

Meats:

Mofongo

•  Mofongo de cerdo o pollo con caldo (Mashed plantains with pork or chicken inside,  accompanied with chicken broth) .
  
• Chicharon de cerdo (fried pork skins).
